Sell something worth 100,000 or more

First, kill two popular theories. There is no secret six-figure fish: the highest catch we can inspect is a Goblin Shark at Value 10,230 (Scientific Lure, Island 5). And you cannot sell bosses — the whale shows a price in the tab menu, but it’s a quest item, and the displayed boss prices are a known display bug.

That leaves one path: multiplication.

The Three Verified Multipliers

  1. Trick-shot killscore. The inspect panel lists a Killscore multiplier on the fish (1.1x on the specimen below). A 360 no-scope finish in the reference run lifted a Goblin Shark sale from about $10,000 to $15,000.
  2. Cooking. The same inspect panel lists Cooking 1.5x as the grill peak. Value decays toward burnt after that — pull at the peak.

  1. Casino roulette. The NPC’s own rules: bet any carried item on a color; “if you win, the items you place on the table will be worth more to sell. However, if you lose, your entire bet will be lost.” Confirmed in practice after a red win: “I pick up the fish cuz it’s worth more.”

The Route

Honesty first: nobody in our verified footage completed this on camera — the reference runner reasoned his way to exactly this plan (“Do I just have to keep trying to double it?”) but ended his stream with it locked. It’s the mainstream route, not a demonstrated one.

  1. Reach Island 5 and bank enough for Scientific Lures ($5,000 each) with margin for retries.
  2. Summon a Goblin Shark and finish it with a 360 no-scope — inspect starts at $10,230; a trick-shot finish in the reference run sold around $15,000.
  3. Cook it to the 1.5x peak (listed on the inspect panel). Don’t burn it.
  4. Take it to the Island 4 casino and bet it on red or black — never green. Green is the long-shot bet (that’s the separate “All in” achievement); one loss deletes the shark and everything stacked on it.
  5. Collect after each win, check the new value, and re-stake until the displayed price crosses $100,000.
  6. The moment it qualifies, walk it to a vendor and sell. Not one more spin.

From a cooked Goblin Shark you still need roughly a 4–5x boost from roulette — the exact win multipliers per color aren’t documented, so expect a few wins rather than one.

Ways It Goes Wrong

  • One roulette loss = start over from the lure purchase. This is the entire risk profile of the achievement.
  • Skipping the trick shot — you give up a free 50% on the base.
  • Overcooking past the 1.5x peak.
  • Hunting a mythical high-value fish instead of stacking — 44 of 49 species were seen in the reference run and nothing came close to $100k raw.
